Default Headlight problem

Greetings,

I have a 2004 Honda Civic LX Sedan and I'm having a problem with my right headlights/running lights.

My right low beam is totally out. The right high beam will come only when the key is engaged in start II position (fans running), but the left low and high beams will come on even without the key in the ignition? The front right turn signal functions, but the running lights (same two bulbs as the right turn signal) don't come on as they do on the left side. Tonight, I went to replace the right low beam bulb and realized that both the low beam and high beam bulbs look fine (filament intact) and the fuse (#17 20A - Right Headlight/Brights) is intact?!?

I'm not good at troubleshooting electrical so any ideas and/or help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Will

Sorry guys, I'm new to this forum and I looked all over the web page and couldn't find an obvious way to start a new thread so I piggy-backed on this old one... it's not where I would assume it would be under my login account or thread tools.

Might be a multiplex control unit problem.

I agree there might be a multiplex control unit (MCU) problem. On 2004-05 Civics, the wiring circuit is a little different than 01-03. There may also be an issue with the ground wire going to ground G201, as the right low beam directly uses that ground; whereas, the right high beam use the ground coming from G401 via the light switch and not G201.

G201 is located behind the right side of the front bumper.

Good info^

I only had access to the 01-03 Civic manuals.
