Default 98 Civic Hatchback Rust Question

98 Ek Hatchback recently purchased. I've been talking to a couple automotive body shops that would cut the metal out and put a new piece in. Overall the car is in very good shape, no trunk rust, frame rot just the small hole in the rear passenger side quarter panel.

Would this be a very easy process to fix for an automotive body shop or should I keep the car as is?

Wait. Did you not say you were talking to shops? What did they tell you?

Won't you find that out when you get the estimates? And what shop cannot give you an estimate right there on the spot? Unless you're only talking to these people over the phone.

This should be in the Paint & Body section. Not tech.

Body work. Done correctly, is expensive.

This is an opinionated thread. My opinion and your opinion of worth is different.

Oh, if you think that's all there is you're probably mistaken. Rust is like an iceberg.

Your asking a question nobody has the answer to without being with the car. What you can see in that pic, once you start getting into it will be 5 times that size if not more. If it's rusting there, it's probably rusting around the rear of the wheelwell as well. Basically the rust you see is small compared to what is under that panel. If you plan on keeping the car, fix it and paint it. If its just a daily, run it til it dies because ur front bumper needs replaced/painted as well as the grill needs paint. Good luck, gotta start somewhere
