92DX Misfire/no power at low RPM when cold(usually)
Hello,
I did some searches and found some similar issues but usually when warm. The car is stock 92 DX Automatic. Fairly new cap, rotor, plugs. Wires were changed a couple years ago.
It doesn't always have the issue, but perhaps 80% of the time. It usually happens when cold start, probably 95% of the time it does happen is before the car is warmed up.
Idle seems ok for the most part. When the issue occurs it is basically misfiring really bad/no power from around 1300ish to around 2200ish when under load. But I can't tell the upper RPM range for sure, because when it gets near 2200 it starts losing more and more power and sounds like its going to die, I then let off the gas and it downshifts and then revs to 2500ish and then it has some power. When the issue goes away it almost feels like a turbo boost, it is laggy then all of a sudden full power.
Now just guessing but to me it feels ignition related but I'm not sure how to check it. Whenever I test stuff its working just fine, since I can't really reproduce the problem unless its under load.
Any ideas?
By the way, a couple years ago I cleaned out those EGR ports on the intake so those shouldn't be plugged.
Thanks

Have you checked for codes.
Cold start up, what are the RPM's. Can't hurt anything to clean/adjust the IACV and FITV, while there give the throttle body a good cleaning - be sure to get both sides and edge of the butterfly.
