Nope! I was afraid of that until I tried it. It really works... Probably one of the great mysteris of the universe. But now I use Windex and newspaper every time I wash my car and my parents' cars.

Windex sucks, it streaks way too much. Try using a foam cleaner like Invisible Glass. It doesn't have any soaps that streak, and is completely safe for tinted windows. Good stuff.

Steel wool and window cleaner works very well. I have never tried newspaper though.

windex with newspaper is suppose to get rid of water spots. but USING FOAM cleaners with bounty, is the best, no streaks!

If you have tinted windows, DO NOT use Windex unless it's the ammonia-free kind. The ammonia that most household window cleaner has in it will eventually fade the tint on your windows. Just an FYI...

not all types of newpapers work well, but most do. It's the ink that the newpaper is printed with. The ink grabs the dirt and absorbs it all. Thats why after you wiped your windows, the ink is all faded and stuff... and if you notice, its very clean and cheap. Why do you think some bums in the streets in run upto your car with some windex and newpapers?

i believe the reason why is because the "ink" in the paper acts like a polishing agent

just go down to a auto window shop and buy the industrial window cleaner they use. I bought some from apple auto glass and the first time i used it, it was so clear i almost put my fist thru my driver's window. they leave no streaks

windex is the worst window cleaner you can buy.

go to any glass shop and get the window foam then spray it on and use newspaper to wipe it off
