OBD1 shocktower plugs on EF
i have been looking for a couple days and cant find any info on this i have seen people do it was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. i want to run a OBD1 engine harness in my 90 si any help would be awesome thanks!!!
Why ??? the preferred method for several reasons is to use a obd0>obd1 ECU jumper harness, then modify your stock engine harness to accommodate. Its been done a million times.
yes i understand that but i do not have a stock engine harness for the car i am trying to work with what i got and i cant find a a6 harness i already have the ecu wiring converted to oBD1 just trying to find the wiring diagrams or pin outs of the connectors... bought a shell and bought a motor not everyone has the stock engine harness
The plugs vary through the years so it really hasn't been covered.
I actually did what you are attempting and cut off my shock tower plugs and replaced them with the OBD1 plug. I also hard wired the OBD1 ECU connectors after cutting off the OBD0 plugs.
I had a lot of time on my hands. I am also good with wiring.
It took time, but I labeled every pin at the firewall plug after doing continuity checks from the ECU plugs.
I also labeled every wire on the OBD1 harness.
Then it was just a lot of matching up and soldering.
Did I mention, I had a lot of time on my hands?

i already hard wired the obd1 connectors for the ECU do i prety much find a pin out of the ecu and match the function of that wire to the corresponding wire on the engine harness?? Example: A1 is injector 1 i find that wire in the engine harness and connect????
Or he could just make his own - I think he's going to have some success here! The method he has started with looks super similar to how I did it and it worked just fine.
^ Good eye.
I didn't take a look at the information he typed, just that he had arranged a spreadsheet with locations.
Yeah... That's going to be a problem. Use a meter and do continuity checks was my route to making the spreadsheet - not quite sure what is going on here.

i also sat down with a multimeter that is how i diagramed this harness i found what the connectors looked like and just multimetered the whole harness.so i guess my question is now should the EF chassis shock tower plugs be similar. like distr. and IAC. to where i can find a pin out and just repin to OBD1 connectors on the chassis side.???
