difference between b16a SIR1 and b16a1 ?

Default difference between b16a SIR1 and b16a1 ?

Anyone knows the difference between b16a SIR1 and b16a1 ?

B16A SIR-I
Power: 158 hp (118 kW)

B16A1
Power: 150 hp (112 kW)


what gives b16a SIR1 more 8 hp ?

Far as I know, the weaker B16 was found in automatic models. They had weaker cams and only single, instead of dual valve springs.

Most people have no idea about this and think all B16's are equal

b16a1 is EDM and is manual ... no automatic

thought the B16 DA Integra's had the auto option.....

anyway, probably the same differences, maybe a touch lower compression too. EDM cars, both integra's and civic/crx's had higher geared tranny's also

i think compression is the same,

i heard that the SIR dont use CAT and the exhaust line is bigger...

but would like to know for sure..

Aftermarket header and exhaust is the way to go regardless.
