Default increased cr in d15

Been really searching all the info on here, and lots of it!

But everything I'm finding is in relation to mix-matched heads with blocks, vtec conversions, or turbo setups.

I have an 88 civic hatch with it's original d15 in it. The previous owner was probably not as nice to it as i am, and although I've gotten a good 60k miles out of it this year it's near time to replace pistons and rings.

I'm thinking if I'm going to have to pay my mechanic to do this anyway, I'd be kinda nice to go for a little higher compression than stock, but not really trying to build a custom Frankenstein here either.

He said he'd order some new pistons and machine them for me, but i was wondering if there's another existing piston he could use that would do the trick so i don't have to pay machining costs.

I'm not looking for anything crazy,i think stock is supposed to be 9.2:1ish, I'm thinking like 10.5:1ish, no higher than 11:1....only bc i assume if i get too high I'm going to need to replace a lot more parts to handle the higher compression, and more parts= more $, and more frankensteined crap. I just want to build a daily driver for a gas sipper that i can get another 500k miles out of.

To clarify, its a SOHC non vtec d15. The question is, whats the easiest way to increase the cr without frankensteining the block. Should i just let my mechanic order new pistons and machine them?

Honda D-Series Compression Calculator by ZealAutowerks

pistons or mill the head are the most common methods.

Soooooo, looks like the only way to get pistons for this guy is to have them completely made custom... nothing's really going to fit that I can have machined.

mechanic put a little bug in my ear that I sat with for two weeks, and looks like I'm getting a 95 Civic Si motor dropped in instead... so this is going to fix my power problems but probably hurt my economy problem, lmao, I've made peace with it, my inner man just grunts and says "oohhh ohhh oohh, more power"
