Default ECU for 93 Del Sol Auto

The Del Sol is a 93 SI auto trans.

As more parts for these go NLA, I've been working at storing away spares to keep this one going.

From my reading the p28 a51 thru p28-a53 can be converted for use in 5 speeds. But I plan to keep this an automatic as I can no longer operate a clutch easily due to a bad knee.

Anyway, looking at parts websites they show the a52 not compatible with the 93 cars. They all show only a50 (replaced by a51) as the only ecu for 93 del sols.

Since normally Honda lists the newer part as applicable i got to wondering if the a52's or a53's would work or should I just look for an a51 for a spare.

That was what i thought but i got these results on one of the parts sites. Another returned essentially the same answers. So I'm beginning to believe I should only look for the a51 (or a50).

I don't see any reason why an A52 wouldn't work. I'm more of a 6G guy, but maybe Deschlong can chime in and tell us if there's a difference between 92-93 Civics and 94-95 Civics that would necessitate a different ECU?

Any OBD1 automatic P28 will work. Denshigiken made the boards for the '92 - 93 models and IPT made them for the '94 - '95 models, functionally they're the same though.

I had to replace my ECU today due to a fuel pump issue.

I purchased a P-28-A52 (94-95 model year ECU).

it worls properly as suggested.

However I opened both up side by side and both have boards made by Denshigiken. So at least some A52's were not made by IPT.

The boards are similar but the A52 had a rev E board vs the A51 is a rev D.

Assuming this is a virgin ECU as advertised there are some components on the rev D that are not on the rev E. The board is still marked for them but they are not there. Specifically r99 and c71. There may be other differences that one was just obvious.
