Default Oil in exhaust..

I just bought my Si hatchback '92 about a week ago, it has a Magnus racing exhaust, d16 z6 vtech and its lowered on raceland coil overs. Any time I drive it it smells like burnt oil and smokes a bit out of the oil cap(white smoke) and I ran my finger across the inside of the exhaust and my finger was covered in oil. I'm thinking maybe a valve gasket cover or a valve guide could be the problem. Please help, it only smokes after I park it. But it stinks real bad when I drive it. Also someone cut the heating core. Or it just stopped working ?

Have you checked for oil leaking onto the exhaust manifold anywhere (as was just told to me for my car).

As for the smoking exhaust, have you done a compression test on your car to get an idea of motor health/piston ring health?

Being a vtec motor, most likely the engine has been driven hard a fair amount of it's life. Redlining is hard on valve seals and the engine is 20 years old and probably original seals in it.

Keep a close eye on your oil, I check mine ever half tank of gas (twice per fill) and keep it topped up. Most likely your oil consumption is going to be pretty high.

Also monitor when the car smokes, if it's high vacuum situations like high rpm engine braking, or on take offs but not so much on just normal driving all the time in load etc etc, it points to valve seals. If it's just anytime the motor is in load or just always it smokes, then it is usually piston ring related.

This info should give you some direction to follow and monitor to isolate your particular issue.

Sounds like a couple issues unfortunately. Go ahead and do a leakdown and compression check. Cuz white smoke and oil. Couple issues there.

Replace the PCV valve and check the breather and PCV hoses for a clog.

Does the engine overheat?

Are any CEL codes thrown?

and I ran my finger across the inside of the exhaust and my finger was covered in oil.
Engine oil or black carbon? At the tailpipe?
