I need to replace my subframe. Aside from rust spots, one of the threads for my LCA bolt is damaged. My question is, are all 96-00 subframes the same? I ask because I'm most likely going to be pulling from a junkyard. I have a 96 ex coupe. And is there any recommended maintenance while doing this swap? I know it'll free up a lot of working room once it's out. I already plan on putting in a manual steering rack.

 

No. They are not the same IIRC. Power and non=power steering use different racks. A little search would have revealed that.

 

I know the power steering racks are different. One has a bunch of power steering lines, and one is very basic. Unless, you're referring to the subframe when you say rack. and what is IIRC? Lastly, if I will need a certain subframe for use with a manual steering rack, which one? I wasn't sure if they made EKs without power steering.
