Default 98 civic power lock switch being tempremental

I just picked up a 98 civic 4 door. There is no keyless entry. the power locks seem to work fine from the driver seat except occasionally, the switch won't unlock the locks. The unlock feature seems to stop working about 40 percent of the time. The lock side of the switch always works. Is this obviously the switch/connection or am I over looking something.

Does anyone know if a 2 door Drivers door window switch is interchangeable with a 4 door drivers door window switch?

I'm not sure about the switch compatibility but i can say testing a switch is easy.

Grab a multimeter and set to continuity. Most will beep on this setting.

Connect probes to terminals on the switch and activate switch. The meter will beep if good.

Check for broken wires in the driver's door jamb connector.

Aside - If you have the stock radio, then you can probably recover the keyless feature by buying a remote.
