'93 Del Sol - can I use any P28 ECU?
Hi all!
Hoping someone can help me out. I have a stock '93 Honda Civic Del Sol. Unfortunately the ECU has gone on it and I'm having difficulty finding one here in Canada for it.
More specific details: '93 Del Sol Si, D16Z6 1.6L motor, 5spd. Vtec? (I think all D16Z6 motors are Vtec?)
The ECU is a P28-C00
My question is: can I put any P28 (for a manual transmission of course) or does it have to be a C00
As far as I can tell the C means Canada?? Can I put an A00 in?
Cheers,
Fabian

First off, if you have a D16Z6, you have VTEC. Also, if you engine is running off a P28 without any CELs, then you have VTEC.
Yes, you can run any manual P28.
Yes, you can run any manual P28.
Go to the wreckage yard and find any 92-95 civic ex manual and pull the ecu. These are all obd1. Watch out cuz there is a p28 that came in 96-97 del sols that is obd2. A lot of people don't kno this.
