93 del sol si swap questions
I just picked up a 93 del sol si. With a JDM b16a swap already in it. its running off a p28 at the moment and people have told me I need an obd1 PR3 ecu and that is the proper one to use. People have also told me to use a P30 obd1 ecu..
Which is the right ecu to run?
I searched online and didnt ever get a solid answer... any help thanks in advance guys....

Re: 93 del sol si swap questions
you can just chip the p28
just go to the hondata site, they have everything there.

Re: 93 del sol si swap questions
the del sol VTEC came with the P30. The p28 is a great ECU though. In the end you are better off keeping the p28. Throw an s300 at it , and now you will be able to tune as upgrade later down the road, if thats your plan. If you spend the money on the p30 and later on want to run boost or cams, well now you get to spend the money to chip it so you can tune for those mods.

Re: 93 del sol si swap questions
just chip the p28 with a good engine management. this way you can play around with all the settings and such on your "stock" motor.
put it this way..play around with a stock motor?.. or play around with a fully built turbo b16? you will be scared to play with the fully built motor more so then your stock.
and if you dont like the p28 with s300 you can always turn around and sell it for about the same price as what you paid. so basically you played for free

Re: 93 del sol si swap questions
if you are just wanting the car for a daily or whatever then just get the p30 and drive with it for awhile, keep the p28 and have it chipped for later on down the road when you actually have things done to the car.

Just get a P30 and drive it for a year like you said.
In a year you might sell/trade or something so no need to chip if dd.

yeah, just don't forget that running a p30 you will need to wire in your knock sensor, the wire runs to D3 on the ecu plugs.
