Intermittent stutter when first put into drive or reverse
I've got a 2007 Accord, V6, automatic transmission with 64,000 miles on it. The transmission shifts fine, no hard shifts or slipping. Recently I started noticing the car will have a miss to it, as if plugs and wires are bad when I first hit the gas in reverse or drive. It only does it the very first time I hit the gas in those gears and it doesn't do it all the time. Under any other driving condition the engine runs smoothly, casual driving or wide open throttle. It will do it when the engine is cold or warm, there doesn't seem to be a set condition it's happening under. Oil was changed less than 1,000 miles ago and tranny fluid was changed roughly 8,000 miles ago. I'm not sure about the plugs and wires, but aren't they supposed to be good in these j engines for an unordinarily long amount of time? Any input would be appreciated.
First, I would check the motor mounts, and check the spark plugs. If those check out, I suspect the transmission (pressure switches). The link I posted below has a wealth of information on the 7th gen (2003-7) V6 Accord. I would save this link. Personally, I would change the transmission filter, and the pressure switches (if the mounts and plugs are good).

Thank you very much for the information. I do suspect a motor mount or two being bad. One was replaced back when the transmission fluid was changed by the dealer. I'm just going to have to look into changing the filter myself because when I asked the service writer about it he said it wasn't something Honda deemed necessary. He said it was more work than it's worth considering the transmission had to be dropped. Right then I knew he didn't know what he was talking about haha.
Thanks again for the info!
Ha funny, I just got to the part where it says most dealers will make the claim that the filter is unserviceable. It's almost like they don't want to fix the problem.

I'm guessing that if you asked, at least half the techs at Honda dealerships don't know about the serviceable filter. The Helm factory Accord service manual makes no mention of the filter at all, so what would the techs have to go on. What is shocking, is that Honda thought enough about it to put the filter there, then decide to ignore it when it comes to maintenance???? I don't know who was the first person to find this filter, but I'm glad they did. I changed the original filter at 60k miles, and it was obviously catching some debris from the fluid. The guy who did the website I linked to is a member on another Accord forum, and there isn't much he doesn't know about the transmission. He may have OCD (a little) when it comes to the transmission, lol, but he knows more about these automatics than anyone else I know of.
As far as the motor mounts go, the front and side mounts are usually the first to go. When they are broken it will feel like a momentary hesitation, then a thud/jerk when the engine bracket hits the safety strap on the mount. You can't really tell by looking at them, because there is a rubber cover over the mounts. To tell if you have broken mounts, hold the brake pedal firm, then put the transmission in drive, and give it some gas. If the front of the motor raises more than a little, your front and maybe side mounts are shot. Do the same thing in reverse to check the rear engine mount. Sitting in the car, you can probably see the engine movement from under the hood with it up.
