f23a1/f22 head
Just wanted to share my setup
-f2b setup in crx
-F23a1 block
-F22a head gone over, mild port polishing
-k20a2 86.5 shelf pistons (unmodified)
-delta 272 dialed in
-custom tri y 2.5" header
-70mm port matched tb
-ported h23a1 intake manifold no butterflies, stock I.M. gasket (main runners untouched)
-balancer shafts left in, no belts
-shaved crank pulley
-custom 3" intake
-e85 fuel
Tuned on dynojet.

Nice to see something different. Always thought a Mildly built F series would be a fun budget friendly build. What kinda compression does it have with those pistons?

Thanks!
Original plan was bisimoto stage 2 cam and aftermarket intake Mani. Ran out of budget, but I know it would have broken the 200 mark. Also, most manifolds wouldn't clear my hood

same setup as yours and roughly about the same power

I've read that thread. You were revving to 7k too right?
Bore is 86.5. Lotsa info up top in the original post. Nothing new really other than adding an oil catch can, and baffling the valve cover.
Finally drove it today though. Itr LSD and drag radials but still gets a bit squirly in second. No traction in first. I bet after an alignment and better suspension 2nd will grab hard.

Me and a coworker made the headera and I already have 550cc gtr injectors.
Planning to make these changes before next race season:
-skunk2 I.m. with adapter plate
-bisi valve train
-bisi level 3 cam
-higher redline (8000)
ALSO debating on trying out the obx itb's. Same cost roughly as the s2 Mani and adapter plate

Adapter plate...are you going to be using the Ultra Street or Race manifold? If so, I doubt the OBX would make the power the Skunk mani would make, unless you got a plenum for the ITB's. maybe then
You're right, they don't have an ultra series for the H22...
But since you said you needed an adapter plate, hey you might as well make it for the B or K series Ultra Series mani!

Honestly if I did run a k series Mani it would be an rrc. But they expensive lol. Not really worried about hood clearance anymore so I'll most likely run the old skunk2

It comes with Hondata thermal intake mani gasket and the hardware. paid 275 i think shipped. The spacer is a lil thick so make sure that you have enough room for that and the i.m. Clearance made it difficult to install with out removing the head. i have maybe less than a inch from my firewall. I hope you have stiff motor mounts lol. that thing will bang on the wall if you dont. lol
Gut those runners/chop them down a bit! Here's a recent post from CB7tuner:
Solid results though. Care to share any measurements on that header?(tube diameters/lengths)
we started today at 10am and just finished about 8pm
first off old rockers vs new

non ported vs ported ( 8888 to 0000 ) f22a6 runners and f22b dohc plenum

stock 62mm s2000 throttle body vs bored and tapered JDM H23A vtec throttle body 70>64mm

my custom web regrind vs bisimoto level 2

what i started with and what we finished with all testin was done with the shop closed up and exhaust venting out through exhaust hoses to keep the climate as controlled as possible. humidity was a steady 34-36% and ambient temp was in the 64-66deg F range. elevation is 33ft above sea level.
the rocker comparison was 3hrs apart, intake manifold comparison was 28mins apart, throttle body comparison was 2-3mins apart, and camshafts were about 5hrs apart, had a boo boo and dropped a bolt down the in the timing cover, lol.

the peak numbers are impressive but the real fun is the across the board power. at 3500rpm there is about 20wtq gain, on average its a 13wtq gain and 14wtq peak gain. the largest whp gain of 17whp is at 5200rpm and peak for peak is about 13whp. 163whp/152wtq before and 176whp/166wtq after. no tuning was done until the camshaft was changed.
just for giggles F22A6 end results vs the last F23A non vtec combo. its funny how from 3600-3700rpm they make about the same power, lol. it must be a bad harmonic rpm for the intake or header.

im done for a little while till all my bottom end parts are here:tu:
