Cruise control not working
Ok, I have a little bit of a complicated situation thats why I'm writing this on here to try and get help. I got a 98 civic ex coupe 5 speed that came factory with cruise control. The car had an engine swap and all I know is that it was D16z6 out of a 94 Civic. I don't know any other details about the car it came out of. When I bought the car, the guy had a cruise control unit in the trunk. I don't know if it was the unit for the d16z6 motor or if it was the origonal one with the car. it has PP~T P28 on it. I found the harness in the bay to connect it so I went ahead and connected it and started the car and pressed the button but nothing happend. I don't know if there is suppose to be a light on the dash or what but nothing happend. Does anyone know if this is going to work or what I need to do to it to make it work?
No the button doesn't light up. If I turn the lights on it has a backlight but it doesn't change if I hit the button. It also doesn't look like the diagram you have. If it matters, mine is a 5 speed not an automatic. Its just a black box with the letters and numbers I stated above that fits the plug where your diagram has the actuator assymbly and it has the actuator cable attached.
True guess I should said cluster light but given the car starting that is what I thought he/she was looking at. Note just road tested my 96 and the button on the dash only lights up with the panel lights.Green light on the cluster lights when cruse button on the stearing wheel is pushed and seems as it is 25 mph.

^ Correct. You'll need to figure out all the parts that are missing, then reinstall them by removing them from a donor car. If you're a novice, merging the vaccuum-based system from the 6G Civic with the 5G donor motor might prove challenging and/or annoying. Get ready to get a little dirty.

So are you saying I need to get the parts for an equivalent 98? What challenges am I going to run into? It looks like the plug on the engine bay wiring harness will fit or at least be simple to wire together being they are both 4 pin connections. and the connections for the cruise control unit under the dash are there just need the unit. Shouldn't the rest just mount as its suppose to?
EDIT: Wow just realized what you were talking about. I forgot that the vacuum tank isn't going to have a place for the vacuum hose to connect to on the d16z6 motor. Suggestions?
