I just got an insurance quote from my friendly advisor. She tells me that the insurance on my recently purchased Type R is more than my S2000!

Damn, when did the insurance rates go up that much for these cars?!?

Kinda ironic that my supposed winter beater is more in insurance than my summer car!

yeah you pay for having a high profile, high theft auto. I hate insurance companies. Just raking in the cash and when you need money from them they "investigate" you for it. I should go into thae insurance business and become rich.

mine has always been high so i'm used to it. when i first got it it was 4500 dollars for a year and i had one speeding ticket. then when the ticket went away after 3 years now i pay 3000. kinda sucks cause i barely drive it

Thats becuase a) You don't have a ***** b)over 25 c) part time driver ...Males under 25 get screwed with any sports car....

U guys are lucky. Guess how much those ppl in HK gotta pay for their TypeR? If u don't have 30,000+ HKD cash in your hand(for insurance alone) don't EVEN bother thinking about getting any TypeR.

6000cad is just a conservative # that I can remember. Probably more.

 

Only $300 / 6 months for me on my 2001 R. Gotta love good student discount, multiple cars on policy discount, home owners policy discount.

 

30,000 HK Dollars = $3,846.84 US dollar. Damn that is alot for insurance but I heard that theft in HK is pretty bad. They like to steal the cars and ship them out to other countries.

 

i think i pay $225/month, im 19, and rated on a 99 S10.. my stepfather is primary on the Arrrrr, im just 25%. Insurance sucks Clean driving record also.

 

High but worth it if anything bad happens!

Thats because ITRs get stolen all the time in Toronto. I wouldn't bother owning one if I lived there. Its not worth the headache.
