Default ej1 airbag removal

I want to remove my drivers side airbag from the actual housing itself that way the sterring wheel can still be complete. I am replacing a cheap aftermarket wheel with a stock one ive already removed the airbag from the steering wheel is there a way to remove the actual airbag? I removed the plastic cover with the warning label and theres 4 bolts that seem to be holding it in but they are almost round. Anyone ever attempt this? Im scared as hell even holding this bomb lol.

Why do you want to do this? What is your reasoning behind this? Just keep it.

Airbags scare the **** out of me I dont like the feeling knowing theres a live bomb right in front of my face while driving lol. Plus all the damage they cause when they are supoosed to do the opposite. Anyways I just feel better without them.

I ended up getting those 4 bolts off (very cafully) making sure to rid myself of any static electrity. just a quick turn with a pair of visegrips broke them loose. They hold in the inflator assembly. It just slid right off once I removed the bolts. Now I can put my steering wheel back together. :D

Depending on the state where you live, you may not pass inspection if the SRS light stays on or doesn't work.

You could have just unplugged it. That way if you ever sell it or need an inspection you can just plug it back up.

What color interior? Canada has airbag delete plates that fit the stock unit.

I would actually be interested in this (and am from Canada, as a matter of fact). Would you happen to have the part number? I assume that they can be ordered at a dealership?

I would be interested in black, but if you have the other colours also for everyone's benefit...

Look up a 92 Si hatch on torontohondaparts.com. Black's probably out of stock though. You'll have to get lucky at the junkyard. Can paint a grey or beige one from a 92 Sedan though.

Oh, another option is to get a stock 3-spoke non-airbag steering wheel. Easy to find in Canada. You'll lose your cruise though.
