Icon3 Car problems please help

Okay so I have a 1996 Honda civic ex its a automatic and my car keeps over hearing and idk what the problem is. This started one night when I was about to get onto the interstate and I realized I didn't have any coolant so I went and got some and filled it up and got on the interstate. All of a sudden my check engine light was flashing so I pulled over to find my car smoking. Now before when this happened it was just my thermostat so I got that fixed but yet it still smokes. My fan isn't moving and my mechanic says it's either one of 4 things . 1 I need a new radiator cause my heat dkesnt work either. 2 I need a new water pump cause he says maybe my coolant isn't pumping Into something right. 3 which I hope is true I just need a new cap or 4 I just need a new fan. Does anyone know what to do?!!!

You need to take this question over to the specific tech forum for you car. You won't really get any answers on the meet and greet because all the guru's hunt on the tech forums and whatnot. Is the check engine light still on? If so, pull the code(s) and list them. So you're saying your fan doesn't come on at all, even when it reaches operating temp? Does it only overheat under certain circumstances as in sitting at a red light but not when you're moving pretty good? Or does it just always surpass the halfway mark on the gauge and keep climbing? Did you check the proper fuses to see if ones busted? Can you jump the fan to see if it's the circuitry that's faulty? https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-d.../#post45657186 Check out that thread.
