Cable to Hydro options?
Sorry if it comes out stupid or jumbling around the idea.....
So i have a 1991 honda crx si, and am currently B swapped with a cable transmission. I will be aquiring a new motor/trans, except the trans is hydro. so what would my options be to use the hydro trans?
I am seeing conversion kits like innovative and hasport, but am still confused on what i am looking at. I see the obvious slave cylinder and converting the car to hydro, but i keep seeing a mechanical kit that appears to use the cable. Is what im looking at a conversion kit for hydro to cable, like newer cars to use older trans, or does it allow the use of a cable to work the hydro trans?
also, for those who have previously converted to hydro, what brand/part # are you guys using, oem or aftermarket clutch, and how does it feel/hold up? I personally am staying n/a and oem clutch, and would like to assume pedal feel should not change much and there shouldnt be much stress on the pedal.
thankyou

There are a few options. Most use a slave cylinder type thing (never used them or seen them so no feedback) and Hasport also offers a mechanical one. I am actually using that myself although my car is currently ripped apart so no feedback either lol.
I have heard of better ones like sujo or something that use a better system but it seems the mechanical one is only hasport.

I have been googling and seeing mixed reviews on both mechanical vs slave cylinder. from what i understand most people have problems with the mechanical conversion due to a aftermarket clutch and the pedal becoming stiff and snapping. where as the doing a full conversion with the slave cylinder, people install them wrong or dont bleed etc, and end up not working or still having that hard pedal and snapping it.
emailed hasport and innovative asking about their mounts and conversions, so i will wait for a response.

im just gonna keep stock clutch and get a new short shifter.. really dont think it will make too much of a difference with a mechanical conversion kit, but i keep seeing hasports angle is bad and the reason theres a lot of stress and breaking. let me know if u get ur **** runnin b4 christmas lol. picking up a totaled ek with a b16b and focusing on the wiring issues atm... but the cable/hydro conversion i need 2 figure out still sadly and would love to stay cable except that lsd/4.4 f/d is too tempting to pass up
i may end up getting a b18c but would just end up getting the obd1 spec. really wont make much of a difference though because still need to wire strays for vtec/power etc which i dont wanna do lol

the mechanical lever assembly EFBHCL works just fine with stock clutches or stock style full face organic disc with normal pressure plate
its when people put in stage 8 6 puck clutch disc with extra super heavy duty pressure plate that the mechanical lever assembly binds up and doesnt function anymore. it was never intended for such use
the CMA utilizes a 92-95 civic clutch master cylinder or wilwood cmc in which the clutch cable is still retained and that actuates the cmc and a custom line is run to the slave cylinder on the trans and that is for use with the extra heavy duty clutches and pressure plates although it will function just fine with oem/oem style clutches as well

^ good to know. need to grab a motor for my christmas present still but been taking a few days to make a list of everything needed.
would u happen to know hasport.... which mounts would sit a type r motor lower in a crx w/o hitting the hood? or very minimal hood spacers? thanks

ok. i know a bunch of years ago only the sir front end would fit a type r without hitting the hood and i think the " new " hasport mounts sit lower then the older type.
just trying to figure out before hand things. thanks though

Look into the Hush Performance kit. My car is still in the process of being built so I can't really give you any feedback on it but if you look up on other forums everyone has nothing but great things to say about the kit. It is a pretty simply plug and play deal.
