You just recently bought it and already are looking for a turbo Wow. Just do some research in the forced induction forum, they should be able to help you out.

Good choice to go turbo.
If your a Turbo Novice, then go Drag III. If you know what your doing, then piece together a kit with better components. The forced induction forum will help you out a lot.

i'll tell you right now, i have turbo on my car and I think its alright. But, if I could go back and do it all again, I'd definetely go all motor. You can make a sick all motor car if you have a lot of $$$

I second that.

VTEC=NA design. Sounds like u're setting up for your car for drag racing, but I do think...turbo charging a TypeR engine is...I dunno what to say. I'd rather go for a GSR and turbo it.

Coz TypeR motor is running such a high compression, and now u wanna turbocharge it and then u have to lower the compression by a lot. Also TypeR is well known as great cornering machine. Go drag racing with it is kinda a waste IMO.

Just my 2cents. No offense to any TypeR drag racers here.

yes when u have lots of $$$$$ the reason i'll go turbo is i only have so much to spend, the same amount money i spend on turbo i'll get a lot more HP then go for NA. true type-r should go for NA but just too much $$ to spend to get same HP like turbo.
for those who think turbo is for drag for u, type-r is a great car but just need a bit more power. may be more torque that's what the car need..

Yeah any D16, B16/18 are lack of torque. To me there is less trouble sticking with NA. I've thought of going turbo on my Civic. Budget is quite limited though I can save $$ on labor coz I do my own work on my car. Once I thought of all minor tunings, ECU setup, coolant/oil temp, brakes efficiency then I thought, maybe it's not worth it.

So I kept using my stock motor and put in SRR 4.7 final gear set into my tranny. And I love this setup in auto-x events especially during on/off throttle. That's what turbo kit can't give.

Maybe big HP # doesn't mean that much to me so far. Even if I have money, I'll still stick with NA all the way on any Honda motor. When turbo doesn't come stock.
