98 Accord Revs high on shift, jerky shift
Got a 98 accord 4 cyl. that has been reaching high rpm, 4 - 5k, before shifting.
I have got to the point where I can almost time my foot on the pedal and let off a little bit and it will shift easier. Seems to only be a real issue in the first two or three gears.
It does jerk, but only if I don't let my foot off the gas as it revs high, and even then it does jerk a little bit.
This is also only when the car is cold. After I've driven it for about 15 min, it shifts fine and you wouldn't know any thing is wrong, no jerking or high rpm or anything.
It's got 200k mile on it and the transmission was re built at around 110k.
That's the gist of it. I will be happy to post more info. Checked the fluid and it's fine, nice red color.
Also, there was no big change prior to the start of the problem. This just kind of came out of no where.

there is another post just like this. These trannys are not some of hondas better builds. They randomly go out. Sounds like yours is slipping
Scan for any stored codes first. Not all codes will set the CEL or D4 light. OBDII scanner/code reader is best. If the TPS is bad the trans may not upshift under normal driving.
