2002 ACCORD ULEV AUTOMATIC help me please!!
I recently posted this up (Hello helpful honda ppl.. I recently bought an automatic 135xxx 2002 coupe accord 2.2vtec I believe, and theres a check engine light for the code p0401 I believe for the egr, I took it out today and cleaned it with carb cleaner and put it back on with the new gasket etc.. 30miles later the light came back on... what should I do now? Also when I drive in for 4d when its changes 1st to 2nd gear it shoots the rpm up and then back down when it shifts and the car kinda jerks forward, but its only in that gear everything else works fine.. id really appreciate it if you can lend me a hand..)
I did end up cleaning the egr ports and all the places where the carbon would build up and now the check engine light is gone!! So many thanks for that, it really helped me alot, but the car is still surging jerking whatever you want to refer it to. Its an automatic and when im driving only in the first gear this happens when its about to shift into second gear the rpms jump up and the shoot down to normal and then the car jerks. Example first gear in d4 automatic the gear is about 2500rpms and then when it changes it jumps to about 3100rpm and drops down to about 2600rpm and then car jerks forward and it only happens in that gear.. someone please help me here.. also the transmission fluid is fine.

When was the fluid last changed? You say it is fine but give no history of changes.
Also note, the aut trans in the 98-02 is "kind of known" for failure.

Could be a defective shift solenoid C, could be a defective of clogged 2nd gear pressure switch. I would pull the 2nd gear pressure switch and verify it is not clogged with clutch material. Clean it, reinstall, verify that any codes are not stored. Verify that the wire harness and connectors to the shift solenoids and pressure valves are clean and tight. Verify that the NM/NC sensors are also clean.
