Vtech or new transmission

Vtech or new transmission
I was told I needed a new transmission..2002 honda accord wasn't shifting properly. Wouldn't go into 3rd gear and shifting down from 2nd into 1st always hesitation. D light blinking check engine light on steady. Codes read internal transmission. $3500 dallors later I drive off and about 30 miles later same dam thing all over again. Towed it back and they tell me they replaced a v tech solenoid???..WTH does that solenoid have to do with my gears or transmission??..I think it was more like the shifting solenoid to begin with instead of needing a transmission!!..but can someone explains why replacing the v tech has fixed the problem and should I sue them for the cost of a transmission I probably didn't need??

Re: Vtech or new transmission
The codes they told me to begin with was a 780 and 730....they put the rebuilt transmission in..then when i had it towed back the new code referee to a v tech solenoid.....if that solenoid has anything to do with oil pressure it would make sense because when this first started to happen the first thing I did was check my oil..I was 1.5 quarts low...I filled it up and my D light stopped blinking...car was fine for 2 days then it all started to happen again..not shifting into 3rd gear..hesitation from gears coming to a stop etc......the more research I do..i actually do believe now it was indeed a vtech and absolutely nothing to do with the transmission or it's related solenoid...so basically beings in a chic they think I was an easy screw and now I gotta figure out if I'm going to scream rape !!

Re: Vtech or new transmission
There's also the option that there was more than one thing wrong to begin with. It happens and it's not difficult to overlook one problem untill the other is fixed. Now, I don't have much knowledge about transmissions and I probably know less about vtec so I can't tell you if that's the case here. Just something to consider before claiming fraud and calling lawyers. If you find the mechanic is at fault, you will want to contact the better business bureau. Most business will make amends to avoid a bad bbb review, even if they aren't registered with the bbb.
