so like the title says it does not happen every time i start the car.
I would say probably every 5th start or so its pretty random.

It sounds like a clunk and or grind almost like the starter is staying engaged just a second to long. sound coming from the front end of the motor. i haven't dug into it because its been to cold here and i rather work on my EM1.

has any one herd or had any similar issue?

 

Starter solenoid sticking maybe? How long has it been cold there?

 

it started about 2 months ago.
it done this when it was pretty warm out.

Im in NY so it cold now but has been same story in 70%'s
tried searching couldn't find any thing.

something is deff wrong at least it seems it would be.
