Hi,
I'm new to forums and personally maintaining my first car i just bought and i drove 600 miles to get it and back drove it without any problems it ran perfectly fine but I burnt the clutch out replaced it and the hose. then it was fine for a day and the next day when i started it, it lagged but turned over and idols fine but comepletly maxes out at 3k in every gear i dont know much more than the basics when it comes to cars but I wanted a JDM Honda for a while and finally saved enough money and ready to learn how to fix, upgrade, and play around. I noticed many people on here carrey a high amount of knowledge in Honda's and wondering if there is anyone with advice to give a absolute car virgin. the check engine light recently came on after a few days of the problem. also my car has some type of aftermarket ignition switch you have to hold the highbeams in or you hear nothing but the battery surging could the ignition coil have somethin to do with it?


P.S. i have a very low budget so i cant afford to just send it to a shop but i need to fix it before it causes more problems only two codes appeared.

Re-check the codes? I don't see a 1508 or 10335.

Also, can we assume this is a 96 (based upon user name). The engine size might help as well.

 

3k is usually the limp mode setting. It can be caused by a few things but yes like lost again said we need to know the exact codes you're getting

 

Does it still start and run?
