Default 89 Hatch seat pan swap

Quick question! Has anyone used spray foam insulation to take up the extra room in the seat pan? I'm using DC seats... progress so far! Start on the drivers in the morning.

89' Hatchback seat pan swap, DC Integra.

Letting the spray foam insulation setup overnight! For future reference took a hole can for just one seat.

finished!

Difference a couple of weeks make! 11-15-2014, pulled it into the garage to see if I could save it from the salvage yard!<br/>

Nice job! I really need some front seats. I need to find some Integra donors.

Looks like the reason that EF was headed to the scrap yard is because it is an auto.

i did a DA seat swap into my ED. Did the seat pan swap method. IMO so not worth it. Too much work for a weird fitting seat. Pay a little bit of money to get the civic rails welded to the integra seat pan.

whats so hard to understand? I was asking if anyone had used spray foam insulation to fill the gap between the cushing and the actual metal pan.

Not only that but the quarters are in really bad shape. I'm gonna start a little build thread in the 88-91 if you want to see what they look like.

So you swapped seat pans but this left a large void that you filled with spray foam?

I've always heard about pan swaps but didn't realize they left voids.

I actually just recently finished putting DA seats in my 89 hatch. I used the Integra rails and fabricated new mounts on the Civic floorboards. It was actually a lot of work and required me to build some under body bracing since one of the mounts on each seat sits on the really thin no-mans land on the floorboard but it's done now and I'm happy with how they turned out

Yes, when you do a seat pan swap you are putting the donor seat cushion and fabric on the metal seat pan from original chassis... they'll never match up... I filled with Insulation spray foam! About 700-800 miles in working perfect!
