Icon2 b18c1 into ef wiring question

I have an obd1 b18c1 I am swapping into my 88 ef. I have a complete engine/trans combo with stock ecu and harness included. I keep seeing everybody talking about cutting the harness but I won't need to since I have the stock ecu/harness correct? Ill just need to wire the body side for gauges and what not or is there changes to all the plugs for the ecu?

Unless you plan to swap the stock 88 civic chassis harness for a '94 GSR chassis harness (which is completely silly, so don't even think about it), the engine harness on the B18C1 won't plug in to anything found in your engine bay now.

The proper way is to MERGE your current engine harness with the new B18C1 harness. You didn't specify what chassis you have specifically, so this would obviously be more difficult if you need to convert from DX 2-injector to HF/Si 4-injector first. Then it simply comes down to adding what is missing (VTS, VTP, Knock, IAB, 4-wire O2), convert injector clips, dist. plugs and fan switch, lengthen the IACV and IAT sensors, and move the MAP sensor signal from the firewall to the T/B.

This may sound basic, but I do them for a living. If you are not comfortable with cutting up two engine harnesses and running new wiring in the chassis, I suggest you seek help. Also, I wouldn't recommend attempting this without having wiring schematics for both your car and a '94 Integra GSR... like Factory Helms Inc. service manuals.

Good luck.

Ok I see what you're saying, its just a STD hatch. Its still the dpfi so it needs to be upgraded for mpfi. I don't have a problem doing the wiring. Just was unsure if it was necessary since I had the stock harness and ecu from the b18.
