What's up HT . I have an 89 civic and i recently rebuilt the whole motor (like 4-5 months ago) until now i didn't drive it much due to registration restrictions. But i got everything paid off and started driving it here and there and it ran fine. Turned on and everything sounded healthy. But about 3 weeks ago i had been coming back from work and i stopped one street over from my house (thank god) turned it off, and, when i went to start it. Nothing. Just cranked over but i didn't hear the fuel pump come on anymore (BUT i did hear the main relay click twice) so pushed it home. Turned on once it was cold the next day. Cool. Maybe just a kink or something. But then happened again close to home but then never turned on again. Just cranked over. I thought about the dizzy but wouldn't it turn back on one cool if it was the distrbtr? The fuel pump was pretty new. I replaced it AGAIN and turned on, so i let it idle for a while. Turned it off; then went to turn it on and nothing again..i checked for spark, fuses, compression. All good. So idk what to do now .-. Has anyone had this problem before? Maybe give me some leads? Check to see if there is power at the pump connector when you turn the key on. There should be power for 2 seconds then turn off. If not there could be a main relay issue, wiring, or an ecu pump circuit problem

 

I was having the same problem! The it got to the point to were it wouldn't start any more. Here is my post with some advice that could help you too...

How would you check if there is power at the pump? A test light?

 

I just don't get it. The car has compression, spark, fuel. It was running fine and just died out of nowhere..,

 

Check your timing. Could have skipped.
