What are the best tires for a 1990 Honda crx si?
Best as in everyday driving. I currently have 18 inch tires. I've been told they are a drag and people always comment on why I have them. They came with the car when I bought them.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Depends on what you want. Best is a personal thing.
Personally I use some cheap *** touring tires on HX wheels, 185/60/14, they are cheap, they last forever, they ride well, and I commute a lot in my car. My criteria for best is different than yours though.
My thoughts on 18s on these cars. WAYYYYYY too big and goofy looking. Ride is harsh and shitty, they screw up your speedometer reading, wreck your gearing and acceleration, tend to be heavy and tires cost a lot more, and you are far more likely to bend a wheel with rubber bands wrapped around to still fit under the fender...

Depending on which size you have, the Continental Extreme Contact DWS is a great all around performance all-season tire.
I have the DWS on my '12 Golf TDI and they're definitely good in the rain and very quite. However, depending on what you're used to, you may find them a little too soft. For me it's not really an issue as it's not a race car, but cloverleafs feel different now for sure. A little less confidence mid-corner.
I've had a lot of tires, I would agree the Continental DWS are one of the best. You should find some oem 15" they should be cheap and look great.

Favorite tire in the $100 per tire installed range, but I liked the previous tread pattern more (512, I think)
