Short shifter thread pitch...
Should the thread pitch be the same for a GS-R shifter and cheapo eBay aluminum short shifter? Reason I am asking, I took off my '00 R **** when I sold my '94 GS-R (stock shifter) and that same **** WILL NOT screw onto this eBay shifter I just got in the mail for my soon to be '89 Si. What gives?
Yeah, I realized they should have the same pitch and it appears they do to my naked eye, but my **** only screws on about a 1/2 turn then stops and I do not want to force it and strip the threads on the shifter being that it's aluminum. Should I cut off about an inch and try then?
My first short shifter experience and I feel like a fuggin' n00b.

Did some trial and error....
I would assume the threads on the R **** are metric, but I found out a 3/8" bolt screwed in about 1/2 way to the **** and the thread finally catch up with each other.
The 3/8 nut that threads into the 3/8" bolt perfectly, will NOT thread onto the new shifter. Unreal. I just learned my lesson... NOT to buy cheap **** on eBay.

i bought a skunk 2 shift **** and it would not thread on to my B&M short shifter. boy was i pissed. the shifter has S.A.E. thread 3/8" i think. While the shift **** had 10x1.5MM thread pitch. i bought a die and re threaded the shifter. the **** threaded right on. you would think B&M would use metric threads for a honda shifter. probably cause they want you to use their shift *****
