Icon2 Lockout 5th gear on 2010 CR-V

Reaching out to see if anyone knows of a way to reprogram the control module to lock out 5th gear on our 2010 CR-V LX 4wd?

We do a lot of camping, biking and kayaking, and the vehicle cannot maintain speed in 5th with two bikes and two kayaks on the roof.

In 3rd gear, rpm is too high.

Another option would be to do a re-program with a switched input to inhibit or allow upshifting to 5th...

Anyone able to do a reprogram, or know of someone that can?

Thanks in advance!

Is there no overdrive switch on those model CRVs?

The only switch is on the gear shift lever for 'D3,' which limits the maximum gear range to 3rd. In other words 'D3' locks out both 4th and 5th.

I would advise not to make any changes. It uses that 3rd gear because it needs to spin the rear differential. If you try to leave it on 5th or 4th it won't be able to spin up the rear differential in order for you to get moving. Its design this way for a reason, and not like the tacoma's where you can manually engage the 4wd function.
