Miles on New Car before Purchasing
So my eye has been on the new body Si sedans ever since I saw one back in 2013. I finally am in the market for one and have found a 2015 Si sedan Rallye Red in northern Cali, although I live in Los Angeles. I'm going through the Costco program and the dealer is selling it for $22,492 w/ TTL it's $24,957.
Keep in mind there is no dealer that would sell it under MSRP around me and if they do you have to sell your soul. It's possible but a lot of back and forth.
Anyways, I was ecstatic to hear they will honor the Costco price and even sent me a formal quote. I'm due to pick it up from Friday and today I decided to ask the dealer how many miles are on the car. I was told it has 149 (not a typo). They said that it was involved in a dealer trade hence the miles but don't know how much of this is true or how many miles a dealer trade can put on a car.
My question is...is 149 a lot of miles especially for a 2015 already? To me it sounds like it is and if so, should I be worried? I also plan to drive the car back down from SF to LA (another 360 miles). Any expert opinions on whether I should be worried. Is it extremely vital to the engine's longevity? From what I know is that the first 1K miles is crucial. What are your 2 cents? I plan to finance this car for the long run. If it was a lease I wouldn't care so much about those miles but don't want things clanking down the road.
Thanks in advance!!

I bought my Si sedan sight unseen from my dealer ( it was in another city at the time ) and it had 386 Kms on the clock when I got it. They drove it out to me.
If they brought it to you without thrashing it, you can rest easy. The break in period is about 5k miles or 8k kilometres. The 149 miles on it when you got it is minor.

149 is less than the 207 (I think, been a few years) miles on the new VW I purchased for my wife. The dealer had it driven down from NorCal. Paperwork, including the warranty, all list that as the start mileage, so the "60k mile" warranty is good until 60,207 miles.
4 years and over 60k miles later, those first few hundred miles don't really mean anything.
However, since it was driven on public roads, inspect the paint thoroughly, especially in the "bug and rock chip" areas of the front, before accepting the car.

That's another concern. I have to drive it down from NorCal to LA and I'm curious how I should bring it down? Driving constantly at 65 for 5-6 hours is okay? How about rocks chips? Should I get a nose mask or use the blue tape (which I don't know the name of)?
