i am having trouble shifting from 2nd to 3rd ....
but i can go from 5th to 4th to 3rd to 2nd
its a 94 hatch with a b16... and a gsr transaxle
i have the gsr shift linkage...
i put it into gear manually... by hand and it goes into 3rd
occassionly it will go from 2nd to 3rd
what can i do to solve this annoying promblem

 

when you're sitting still with your foot on the clutch or with the car of, does it go in fine, or is the linkage messed up? Is it only in gear? and if so, at any rpm does it not seem so bad?

 

well its when i'm moving and when i'm sitting...
i can put it into gear by hand

 

it does occasionlly go from 2nd to 3rd
its not a bad syncro or gear...
i was just wondering if thiers a way to fix my linkage
the progs that the shifter attach to were bent a little but no much ...
i am also using a civic short shifter on an gsr trannie...
would the skunk2 shifter bushing kit do any good?

 

did you get in the spring pin alright? A bushing kit will help stabalize and stiffen the feel of your shifter. Make sure the change cable bolt is snug on the shifter as well....hmmm

 

spring pin is in alright and its a knew one too
i'm try the polyuerthane kit and tighten the screw all the way

would a stock gsr shifter make a difference
i just want a reliable shifter
how can you race if you can't shift right ya know

 

Sounds like a bent shift fork to me...
