95 accord starter problem-plz help
hey fellaz
ive got a 95 accord no v-tec. i thought the starter went so i bought new one and does the same thing so i tried another starter and same thing. when u turn the key it just clicks once. sounds the same as a dead battery would. i put volt meter on it and its getting 14v when u turn the key. some one said maybe a bad ground. ive checked and seems ok... also someone mentioned it might be the after market alarm system....
any ideas? thx alot

how could you be getting 14 volts from a 12.6 volt battery? Might want to learn how to use the volt meter? Could still be a bad connection or battery
What are you checking? The battery, the large cable to the starter or the small wire going to the solenoid (BLK/WHT, I think...getting old sucks) as someone holds the key to "start"?
hey fellaz
when i put voltmeter on fat wire on starter it shows 12v when the key is being turned
any ideas
and im a licensed electrician so i know how to use volt meter... lol

Batteries can do weird things.
Yeah shouldn't be 14 volts, unless the battery has an issue, which I have seen a car battery put out 16 volts under a non running load test.
So it sounds like a suspect battery or ground wire.
I am presuming you know the engine isn't seized.
