Default 95 Civic with D15B7 - Clutch Grab

Hi, I have a 1995 Honda Civic with a D15B7, I recently redid the clutch kit, master cylinder, slave cylinder, spark plugs, spark plug wires, transmission fluid, upper and lower ball joints on both sides of the front suspension, and the passenger side CV axel, and I'm still having a problem.

When I go to let off of the clutch it isn't grabbing. I have to rev the motor up to about 2000 RPMs and then slowly let off in order for the car to not die.

I've driven a lot of other cars and in every single one of them, I am able to let off of the clutch and let it push me forward without giving it a whole lot of gas, I maybe just tap it once or twice to get it to go smoothly. When we were down there, we didn't have an impact gun to remove the flywheel, so we left the old pilot bearing in there. The pressure plates, clutch plates, and throwout bearing however are all brand new.

And another part is that my car only has trouble pushing me forward. I am able to back up easily and with no problem.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Is the clutch pedal height adjusted properly?

It's a hydraulic clutch.

I have no idea then, it feels alright, but I'll talk to my friend in the morning and see if he did that.

Could it be anything else if it isn't that?

Many, but you'll need to drop the transmission again to determine.

The pedal height adjustment is easy to do in comparison, so rule it in or out first.

Since the height of the pedal is the same as before, I'd do a freeplay adjustment.

Your pedal probably has no freeplay. It should be a minimum 1/4" freeplay.

When I press it in, it feels like I have free play but I'm not sure.

EDIT: Alright yeah, I just talked to the mechanic who did it, and he did a free play adjustment.

Oh and I also forgot to add that when I drive there's a constant rattling under the shift ****.

Bump

Sorry guys, I need more help.

Still not grabbing.

Checked my clutch fluid and it was black. I'm gonna pick up some dot 3 over the weekend and rebelled the lines, but any idea what could have caused it?

Car started to shift hard again, so I decided to check.

Any help would be great.

So why isn't the mechanic who did the work not fixing your issue?

Because I'm trying to learn and figure this out on my own.

I'm never going to learn if I just let other people do it for me.

Any help please?

If you want to learn, then why are you trusting an apparently bad mechanic with the information above. Measure the pedal height adjustment yourself. See diagram I posted.

Oh and I also forgot to add that when I drive there's a constant rattling under the shift ****.
...and also pinpoint this^ rattling noise.

I'll definitely do that.

No I haven't re bled the lines yet, I'm planning on doing that when I get paid sometime this week or next.

How would I pinpoint the noise? Should I split the transmission again?

Also, the mechanic said that black fluid was normal in the clutch fluid reservoir. I'm not buying it, and I'm going to bleed it either way, but I just wanted to make sure.
