looped power steering but persistent leaking
Hey guys, i have looped my power steering with one of the devsport kits that they sell online, seems simple enough remove PS and install this kit.
However whenever i go for a drive it always seems to leak once i finish my test drive so of course i removed it and checked it out and it was all good,
fast forward installation and removal 8 times and it still leaks i even changed the hose to a standard rubber one as the original hose had a split where the female AN fitting threads into the male fitting, put Teflon tape on the fittings that go to the rack then put the hose on.
Any guys that have looped PS have pointers? or is it that i just i have too much PS fluid left inside its seeping out? i did turn the wheel lock to lock three times before my first install.
Thanks for your suggestions Greg

Looping the power steering is a quick and dirty way of bypassing the pump system. Running two hoses to a small reservoir with a breather is my preferred method. Turning the wheel with the loop can still build pressure while the system attempts to equalize side to side.
Well last night I managed to remove more fluid from the rack and it does not seem to leak anymore.
I went for a trip for aboutr an hour going from suburban roads to highways and checked it after the drive and it did not leak so i must of just had too much fluid that it was being forced out under pressure.
Now the car is on jack stands and when I move the tire from lock to lock I can hear fluid squirt back and fourth, is that enough to lubricate the piston within the rack?
