can headlight frame area be removed?
I acquired this 88 wagon that has driver headlight area damage. The frame there is pushed towards the coolant reservoir. The headlight assembly won't sit flush, really knocked up on that side. I found an image on Google of the headlight frame part out of a crx, but Idk if you have to cut it out or is it simply bolted?
I actually have damage to the same area. Its been rigged enough by the previous owner to look correct on the exterior but has bugged me for years now. About a week ago I actually went to the JY and cut this section out of a donor car to repair mine properly in the spring prior to re-painting the car.
Is it easier to cut the section or drill out the spot welds? And I know that 88-89 and 90-91 have a lot of interchangeable parts but are the frames the same? Like a 90 wagon frame is the same size as the 88 in that area?
Spot weld drill bit - get several as they break easily.
You can check the part numbers for the different cars on

Well in the junkyard it's easier/quicker to cut it out. Of course on the actual repair job you want to do it at the spot welds
Bought a sawzall, bent like 5 blades but I cut the piece out. Now do I undo the spot welds on the piece I cut, then undo the spot welds on the car and just slip it on and find someone to re-spot weld the same spots?
lol. So true. I made the mistake once on a prior JY run for a different project of only bringing one bade. Bent that one so bad it was ruined. After that I learned to always bring multiple blades.
