the whole headlight housing is yellow on those cars. in those races, the top class cars get the xenon.. the other cars have yellow..

ah, i see. i bet that'll be the next lighting style to hit us. they're extremely bright too. i went to a 10 hour race and you could see the porches a mile away blinding.
its these cars, the flat crazy ones that have the xenon lights..and the other ones have yellow.

is that what it is? So the Corvettes and Vipers aren't in the top classes of cars?
They run yellow lights, as was stated, to differentiate them from the higher classes when racing at night. As far as I know, only white lights are legal as primary headlights. Yeah, the yellow lights look cool, but do you really want more attention from the cops?

No, the C5 (Corvette), Vipers (some of them) Saleen S7R, and the 550 Maranellos run in a class called GTS. The class above them is LMP 675, and above them is LMP 900 (This is where the Audi, and Panoz (the red car pictured above), and few other cars race, like the now defunct Cadillac LMP).

yeah i haved worked on two alms teams (rieser calas and seikle motorsports) both are gt class teams and the actual headlight lens is yellow with a regular hid set up.
the whole headlight housing is yellow on those cars. in those races, the top class cars get the xenon.. the other cars have yellow..
