Help! Hit a raccoon, I'm screwed!
Hey what's up guys, first time poster hoping to receive some advice..
Earlier this weekend while on my way to Yosemite, I hit a raccoon on the road, the impact was to my front right bumper, the hit broke my bumper and caved in the air filters, the radiator also absorbed the hit and immediately drained, so I'm assuming the AC condenser was also damaged, the fans inside were broken and started making crazy noises, the engine would still start after it happened, I live in orange county so the tow alone would have been thousands of dollars, so I'm waiting a week for AAA premiere to get towing covered. We filled the radiator and the water drained immediately. I'm hoping to find out how much damage and cost to expect when I get it to the shop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I'm a poor college student so this accident is insanely terrible for me. The car is a 2012 civic lx with 60k miles, and I was told to expect 3k in costs.

Find out all what was damaged, buy the parts yourself and install them yourself. A bumper, fan, radiator dont seem to be alot. Im thinking closer to a thousand to get your car running again.
Thanks for the feedback everybody, I really appreciate it, so a few things.
I dont have much experience working on cars, or many tools, I'm a quick learner and I'm sure there areally lots of resources online, but what tools would I need?
Unfortunately I only have liability insurance through AAA, I probably should have mentioned that it was actually my mom driving, who has full coverage but was trying to see if they would cover it, that is still ongoing and I don't know much about her coverage and it would apply to my vehicle. Also my girlfriends mom works for Honda corporate and gets discounts on parts, right now I'm not even sure how extensive the damage is and exactly what needs to be replaced, so I can't get the parts yet. I'm wondering where I should tow the car to get it looked at.

We had to leave the car at a tow yard in Bishop, CA, for a week while I wait for the upgrade wait period to AAA premiere to end so I can tow it without paying thousands for the tow, from what we saw it looks like it needs new
Front bumper, air filter things behind bumper, 2 fans that are next to radiator, and AC condenser was in the hit zone as well

Body work will be the most expensive to fix but that can wait. Just get an oem replacement radiator and new hoses and stuff. That should be well under 1k and not that hard to fix. The rest can wait for when you have money.

how big was this racoon? I managed to hit two at the same time, they were crossing the road, and I rolled over one with each tire, of course I was driving the truck, no damage but a pain in the *** to clean off the guts. I hit a German Shepard once, at about 60, all it did was crack my bumper and break a turn signal lens, and that was in the 86, I'm trying to figure out how something that much smaller did that much damage
