Ok I have a new 88 beater, its great but auto b2's suck soooo bad so I want to have an auto zc dohc for my daily this is not a go fast thread I need daily pep this all, what I need to know is what's the better auto trans for an EF, will the ac work ona zc with the stock compressor, will how do I keep power steering, will my ps9 be cool until I chip it I'm staying obd0 those are the few things I want to know any help is greatly appreciated
Until someone makes higher stall converters and manual shift bodies, you are much better off swapping to a manual.
The difference between a manual and an auto behind the same motor is noticeable in these cars.
I screwed around with an auto b2 years ago . . . swap to MPFI with a ps9, delta 260, z6 intake . . . it was still a pig. Swapping to a manual was the very first thing I should have done

As I recall, The DOHC ZC auto trans ECU will not work for your application unless you get the DOHC ZC trans (and figure out the wiring) as well. They have different lock up solenoids.
You are best suited with the PS9 which was for the 1.6 motor. In apinch you could probably rung a PR4 from an Integra, but the PS9 will likely manage a 1.6 better.
The ZC is something like 120hp whereas a D16A6 is 110.
I don't know what your going for here, but big power isn't what you are going to get.
I would go with a PS9 and the DPFI > MPFI conversion.
Best bang for the buck.

Yea I have a ps9 and all the stuff for a mpfi swap, yea the goal isn't big power just making the car a little less gut less, it wouldn't have a zc trans I think I'll just keep the lx trans on the zc
TB is the same, but the throttle cable wheel that attaches to the butterfly shaft has a spot for the automatic's kickdown cable.
EDIT: Found a pic of it on the internet -

Yeah that's what I was referring to in my question, because I remember when at a junkyard I was looking for a z6 tb and found one, but it looked weird, then I realized it was an auto 95 civic...and the cable seemed backwards to me. So to keep auto mpfi, I would need an auto kickdown plate and bolt it onto a regular mpfi tb?
the only throttle bodies that will bolt onto an OBD0 D-series MPFI intake manifold are the ones from a D16A6, OBD0 DOHC ZC, OBD0 SOHC ZC and 88-89 D16A1
for the automatic, you would a TB from a 90-91 Civic EX with auto, 88-89 Integra with auto, 89-91 Civic 4WD wagon with auto or OBD0 auto ZC - the auto throttle bodies have another throttle plate air bypass hole, in addition to the one for the EACV
92 and up throttle bodies will not bolt onto the OBD0 D-series MPFI intake manifold - they have a different bolt pattern
