cruise switch is a waste of time, they will push every switch on the dash, best defense is get an RFID system that works with a key fob, no switch to flip or find. also get a GPS tracking system, sky patrol is pretty good, and about 50 bucks a year, plus some of their systems have built in remote relay, shut down the car remotely if it's stolen. Lojack is a joke, and I dont know how they stay in buisness, GPS tracking shows your cars exact location.
If you use multiple switches, in a certain order, than yes it can be effective but it be best to use hidden switches to make this work. Your best bet is to learn how a relays work and use that to your advantage. I don't discuss security methods on open forums but I do toss hints here and there and allow users to try to be creative.
My purpose is to use the switch as a toggle to the fuel injectors for engine off coasting. I might use more switches and/or relays for stealth later on, but that's not the purpose of this thread, as the car is kept in a safe location.
I need to connect 2 wires, to use the cruise control switch, but it has 5 slots available, from 2 red, a black/yellow, green, and black wires. I'd like to know which 2 of the 5 slots in the switch to connect to, and how to do this, without using the old wires.
I don't use the switch for any other purpose.
Let me know if you have an idea of how to do this.

Can someone explain to me how to connect new wire directly to the cruise control switch, without using the connector or old wires? I want to use the switch as a toggle to the fuel injectors for EOC. The connector has 2 red, a black/yellow, green, and black wires. I'd like to connect to the right couple of slots in the switch, without using the old wires.
I have a feeling you're doing more than trying to disable the injectors. It sounds like you're trying to disable certain injectors while at cruising speeds, am I correct?
Judging by his sig, he wants something similar to the cylinder shut off that some chevy v8s have (only ones I've worked with). Can a 4cyl even handle this at cruising speeds?

The Civic ECU has a built-in fuel injector cut-off system when you take your foot off the throttle pedal under most conditions with the car moving (except idle obviously).

Doing this the proper way would be a major project with the wiring and ECU mapping. If you are having trouble even figuring out something as simple as the pinouts for a switch I would suggest that you try do this.
If you are really dead set on this project, you need to spend alot more time researching.
Someone actually has done something like this, check ecomodders.com. But be warn, this can damage your engine as most driving roads are not all the same.
with the engine on (or in gear), and want to have this as a backup, for when the conditions are suitable.
Taping a switch to the shifter would work, but I'd like to wire to the cruise control, as the toggle is already right there.
Right, while coasting in neutral, as shown in threads like this one. I usually coast in neutral
with the engine on (or in gear)

Place car information in the first post or this thread gets locked.
Out of all the weird mod threads ive read.. this one is in the top 10.
I can see to use the cruise as a fuel pump kill switch for security, but this mod is just.....

OP - There's a handy link in my signature to the forum Rules sticky. Click on it. Read very carefully before you make any additional posts in this thread or forum.
The fuel cutoff in gear (affectionately known as DFCO) is a good feature, but the engine drag actually decelerates you quite quickly... I'm thinking the OP is looking for a way to kill fuel consumption while rollin gin neutral (without needing to resort to switcing the ignition on/off and/or bump starting).
EDIT: I highly recommend ecomodder.com for this. While the Honda-specific knowledge here is massive, these mods are often contrary to what we're used to seeing. At ecomodder, this is the norm.

Therefore, there's no way to do what you suggest unless you want to stall the engine and restart it. And there's no way to run a Civic safely with a stalled engine.
