1996 Honda Accord

Burning Oil, from what I've read in forums this could mean valve seals or rings. Are there any other problems associated that I might be missing?

What makes it burn oil & How long does a car burn oil before it completely dies?

It's probably your piston rings. The piston rings seal the piston to the inside of the cylinder to achieve the desired compression needed to properly run the engine. When your piston rings go bad (they are not easy to change either) oil from pan the gets throw into the combustion chamber and burned off.

There is no way to know how long your engine will last, but keeping a close eye on it and topping off the oil once a week is a good way to keep it going for as long as possible. It's probably cheaper to keep topping it off than it would be to take it to a mechanic to have the rings changed.

And no one gives the poor old PCV any attention these days.

It's a ~$5 part at best and should be part of a tune up. So can I ask when it was replaced last? Don't want to hear the, well I cleaned it.....I pulled it and it rattled, When was it replace?
