Default misfire. arg.

I've been having problems with my gsr for a while....it's starting to get drastically worse.

Symptoms: starts ok....idles ok for a bit....starts stubling down and dies. Start it up again....runs for a bit ok.....stumbles then dies. This is completly random...sometimes it doesnt die at all. Driving...It feels...unsmooth...sometimes It wont rev past 4k....it's like im hitting rev limit...but take foot off the gas and floor it again and it will rev to 6k before it ***** out. I hate it.

Ok you are saying..gotta be distributer.

I replaced the distribuer...BRAND new sealed in bag from honda....tried 2 different ignitors...the only thing the same about both distrbutors is the COIL.

New spark plugs, new wires, new fuel filter, new air filter. For a while i would get O2 codes non stop several months ago...even after replacing it with 2 known good...and finally a BRAND new one i have in there now. Sometimes it will go off even with the brand new...but im sure the code is just from the misfire. I've tried it with and without the o2 plugged in...still does same thing. (not open loop only prob).

Next i tried 2 ECU's...both known good. SAME THING. The car is 100% stock EXCEPT for the fuel pressure regulator........I have NOT checked fuel pressure yet. I know i should have done it sooner...that's next. It's got to be..fuel pump (sounds fine) or injectors..or regulator?? Anyone have anything interested to add? Thanks.

oh yeah, see i said everything is stock EXCEPT FPR...it has a B & M on there! I'm starting to think its the culprit. The motor sat for almost 2 years before i put it in. Maybe the FPR got messed up...im gonna swap it out.

how were you able to check the psi pressure? did you check it from the fuel line in the engine bay? or did you have to check it from the fuel pump?
