1988 California CRX DX SHELL CONVERTED TO Right Hand Drive

$3000
********************NO TRADES***************************

Shell only. No engine/transmission. Please thoroughly read this entire ad, before asking any questions thank you!

YEAR/MAKE/MODELCalifornia 1988 honda CRX DX with clean title now located in Minnesota (twin cities). Unsure on mileage because it was a shell when I bought it, but the last registered mileage via Carfax was around 187,000 I believe. Never seen MN winter roads, and has no rust on the body. Great thing about the 88’ usdm model, is that the seat rail bolt pattern is the same as all other 2nd gen crx seats made in other countries. This means any EDM/JDM/CDM etc. stock CR-X seat will bolt right in.It currently has JDM EF7 seats in it with stock seat rails. Also, the 88’ usdm model is the only one that was sold in America with b-pillar mounted seat belts instead of the door mounted ones, making it easy to run JDM/EDM power window doors without having to hassle with belt relocation.

Converted to RHD in 2008 with an SiR ef8 front clip. The USDM firewall vin stamp has NOT been modified. If you’ve ever seen the RHD write up on HT, this is the same car from the write up. Firewall was cut out, and new one welded in retaining and adding to the strength of the factory rigidity.

Cool notes that don’t fit anywhere else:

-Tipped the scales at 1780lbs with d16a6

-Has ONE key for everything! Doors, trunk, ignition all use the same key.

-Has original VIN plates/numbers in original 3 locations. No need for a CHP “bluetag” inspection!

-Has an EF2 sohc four door RHD steering rack and subframe. These utilize the same mounting points for the engine as the usdm models. That means you can run any swap with off the shelf hasport/innovative/stock engine mounts for a usdm model.

INTERIOR:

-EF8 90-91 dash and center console. Stock usdm vin plate installed on jdm dash

-EF8 90-91 door panels, power windows, (everything working)

-JDM ITR gauge cluster

-SPARCO 325 deep steering wheel W/MOMO fixed hub

-JDM EF7 CR-X seats (drivers side ripped from normal wear and tear. Not too bad)

-gutted from seats back. (I do have the rear side panels, but no storage compartment or cargo cover)

-cheap stereo

-everything behind dash gutted, and climate control was blocked off

-MUGEN sports pedal kit powder coated black

EXTERIOR:

-EF8 front end conversion. Smoked bumper lenses (vinyl wrap); J’s style fiberglass lip; CARMOTION CF hood (good shape, some minor scratches); USDM fenders no side markers.

-EF8 doors. Bronze glass; power windows

-EF8 rear bumper

-EE8 VTEC tailights (EDM with rear fog light)

-moldings and rear triangle garnishes not installed, but I have them (garnishes need clips, one molding is bent slightly)

-2 ¼ “ TANABE Hyper medallion EF9 exhaust shortened to fit crx, and CAT deleted. Used, has some dents on muffler

-spoon style CF side mirrors

ENGINE BAY:

-shaved and tucked. Custom fuel lines/engine harness/brake lines

-painted semi-gloss black. Frame rail was clearanced for H2B setups.

-DA9 radiator

-remote battery post terminals

-ZERG industries fender/headlight bolts.

-stock front cross member, that’s had the middle cut out. Temporary setup for moving the car around.

WIRING/ELECTRICAL:

-Custom engine harness using expandable braided loom. Connects directly to OBD1 ecu’s. This harness was made with new wire and terminals about one year ago. It uses obd1 injector clips, OBD1 alt. connector, obd1 o2, electronic VSS, OBD1 distributor (2 plug), OBD1 and up injectors that don’t need resistor boxes. It does have the wiring for a resistor box, but it has a delete in it like you would find in an OBD1 civic or integra. Pull it right out to run peak and hold injectors. NO VTEC! Ran an OBD1 d16a6 with a stock unmodified P06 ecu, with NO C.E.L.’s

-rear harness(for fuel pump and taillights) is the stock 88’ crx modified to work

-Tucked Headlight harness disconnects, and was made from scratch with new wire and terminals.

-Cabin main chassis harness is from an RHD EG8 four door that I heavily modified. Since it was from a four door, I had to delete some obvious things like the power rear windows, abs, srs, etc. Then I went a little crazy. The following was deleted from the harness and car completely: ABS, SRS, defroster for rear window, Heater/AC, domelight, door sensors, rear speakers, front and rear windshield wipers, horn, cig. Lighter, and climate control. The only wiring this car has is for the engine/ecu, lights and blinkers, fuel pump, clock, and gauge cluster. It DOES have a working stereo that I added wiring for later. I opened up the main harness and painstakingly removed all unnecessary wiring, relays, connectors, etc. This car only has wiring for what it needs! The main chassis is about ½” thick!

-uses OBD1 JDM EG8 under hood fuse box (tucked) and under dash fuse box, and OBD1 main relay

-ODDYSSEY pc680 battery (tucked)

-Full Blown 290lph fuel pump

-does not come with an ecu

BRAKES/SUSPENSION:

-5 lug conversion with gunmetal usdm ITR wheels.Fronts are bf good rich drag radial 205/50’s and rear has bald dunlops, But does come with near new falkens.

-ARP extended studs all four corners

-front and rear rotors, and front pads were replaced when 5 lug was done

-stainless braided brake lines all four corners

-all four wheel bearings and front lower ball joints were replaced when 5 lug conversion was done.

About one year ago

-EF8 brake booster

-DA9 15/16” brake master cylinder

-Brake line tuck

-MOOG outer tie rod ends replaced last winter

-ENERGY suspension RTA bushings when 5 lug was done

-Full Blown black lug nuts

-tokico blue front shocks, tanabe sustec pro springs all around (aggressive drop)

-extended front top hats. Only extended 1”

-front wheels well are refinished, and complete interior floor pan was covered with rubberized coating.

FUEL SYSTEM:

-Full Blown 290 LPH fuel pump

- 6AN black braided line from tank to firewall to fuel rail. Passes through firewall via two 6AN bulkheads.

-EARLS 6AN inline fuel filter

Still has an engine it. Will be pulled for serious buyers

Have some better pics. But can't post them cuz rules. Suppose I can send them to people who ask

Right now i need to focus on other things, otherwise i would entertain trades.

I put the best engine bay pic up that i have right now. I'll probably pull the engine this weekend. Hard to photograph a black bay though!
