Redline after cruise control
hello,
I have a 96 Honda Civic ex with a manual transmission. I was using cruise control when I was driving. I stepped on the brakes to slow down and the light turned off as normal. But the car didn't get out of cruise control. I stepped on the clutch and the engine revved to redline. I pulled back on the gas pedal thinking it was stuck but nothing. I manually checked the butterfly and it's closed. What do I do

You might also check to see if your switch bumper pads fell out or broke (the little plastic pads inserted into the pedal bodies). If the clutch switch (brake too) buttons only have a hole to go thru, they wont activate the switch.
If the throttle body butterfly was truly closed, then you have a Godzilla-sized vacuum or intake air leak. It won't be hard to find because it's the size of the Grand Canyon.
