1991 Honda Accord Leaking Fluid
I own a 1991 Honda Accord Ex that has developed a curios issue. I was cleaning the interior this past weekend, and when I pulled up the driver's side floor mat I discovered a thin puddle of fluid covering the hard plastic piece of the floor. The fluid is odorless, colorless, and tasteless (I'm 75-85% sure its water). I know Hondas have a reputation for being leaky, but the odd thing about this is that the fluid/water appears to be welling up from underneath the carpet. Its happening at an exceptionally slow rate; after cleaning up the original puddle (which had to have taken at least 4-5 weeks to form), I can only detect a few persistently damp places in the carpet around the edges of the hard plastic piece on the drivers side floor. The car had been in the shop the day before I discovered the fluid, maybe that has something to do with it? Is this just a little old car quirk, or is it a symptom of a more serious problem?
I see. In its current condition, is the car safe to drive? I was planning on taking a 4 hour (one-way) car trip to visit family later this week. Would I be able to do so without risking damaging the clutch master cylinder or a major breakdown?

Does it have a moon roof? Check the drains.

OP- not sure if the 4th gens are like the 3rd or not. For the drivers side front tube you might have to move the fuse box to get a good look at the "connection" between the tube and the vent/valve part.
IMHO, what happens is the vent/valve part gets clogged, this allows water to back up and then start to leak at the connection where the tube and vent/valve join. Eventually that connection will "pop" out.
To get to the front vent/valve you will have to remove the inner fender - or at least remove the clips/screws towards the backside of the car to gain a view behind it. I use something like "weed eater line" to clear/clean the vent/valve.
Then if one is leaking....might as well check the other three.
