Hey guys, so little information on this.

The fuel injection air control valve is depicted in this thread.

What I am interested in has anybody swapped out this system in favor of another. Having this is a nuisance and was wondering how others have managed with this problem. when it cracks it throws a code so im concerned if i swap it out for a system off another d16y8 it might cause problems?

 

Swap manifolds for a 96-98 y8 and delete it.

 

Seriously, just replace the valve.

 

The reason i hope to eliminate it, is the cost. it is just shy of 250 dollars new and finding used ones is rare. What it does is pretty smart but was just wondering if anybody has done anything about removing it. As i have purchased a edelbrock performer X and have not yet punched the holes (edelbock has the homes pre partially drilled) for the purpose of this valve.
