Icon2 EK B16A hesitation low rpm/feels weak high rpm/power loss

Just swapped my stock b16a into my si. Id say its really miss firing.
It feels like a d16 after I drive my brothers gsr, its lightly bogging out/fish biting from 1500-3500 (really noticeable with magnaflow exhaust) then after that sounds normal but does not accelerate like a b16 should feels like motors working too hard but is not producing results as if it was getting pulled back, when vtec crosses over its not as loud/smooth as it used to be when I had it in my eg doesnt sound half of what it sounded like before but its crossing already had the solenoid cleaned wires are good

I have a magnaflow exhaust, I tuned the ecu with crome and tried other stock ecus, changed spark plugs, plug wires made a little difference but not much. getting new dizzy this week because my old one was hacked up for the obd2 harness to plug in. Vacuum lines could be a problem because I have a few plugged off but I wouldnt imagine it making it run this bad.

If you have any other ideas or ran into this problem before please let me know its driving me nuts.

Did you check mechanic timing? Check ignition timing?

Besides swapping the engine over what else did you do to it? So it was running fine on your eg and you swapped it but now it runs like ***?

Is the cel on? Any faults?
Do you have a strong spark even with the hacked up distributor?

I had cels on but I disabled the o2 sensors on my ecu so no engine light other then the o2 sensor. I get a good spark and it has new plugs pre gapped. I converted everythimt on the motor from obd0 to obd2 so I can plug and play with the si harness. Thats all I f#€ ked with. I have a feeling it has to do with fuel maybe fuel pump I honestly dont know whag it could be..

I had the same issue after I got my b16 del sol tuned and it was a problem with the way he tuned it I really had to play with the ignition timing to get it right. I advanced it a little and it ran right.

Can you be more specific? What did you tune/adjust? I was thinking it couldve been air fuel rwtio but still not 100%..

Injectors maybe? Fuel pump? Have you checked them? Could be a fuel problem.

I Had the same problem and it was caused by a corroded spark plug lead.

Here's a list of things that can cause hesitation/misfire (afaik):
Spark Plugs/Wires
Dizzy
Ignition timing
o2 sensor
Throttle position sensor
MAP sensor
Injectors
Fuel pump
Vacuum leaks

This is what I learned from having a similar problem, Hopefully it'll help you narrow it down and find your problem.

Thanks man ill try it all out I have done most of it already and its made a little difference, do you think a valve adjustmemt could be my problem? Or any head work I should do that can improve my vtec, it crosses over but barely maybe not getting enough oil pressure ?

You got a new distributor or a used one? You are running the same ecu from the eg right?

Check your tps to see if it was damaged during the install?

What makes you figure its the tps?
I have tps probs before and it never did this,
I went and bought one anyway cost me 100 bucks dont feel like installing because i think mines fine and cannot return it after installing..

I dont think my vacuum lines are set up right but would this cause fish biting at 2500 rpm? And also main concern is why my vtec wont engage properly sometikes harder then others, sometimes instesd of 5500 it delays. I forgot to mention I changed every plug from obd0 to obd2 so everything inckudimg injectors is obd2 now.

Would the tps cause any of this?
Also still never tried a new dizzy.. what are some more things I should look at other then tps, spark plugs n wires, dizzy, vtec solenoid, honestly feel like buyimg brand new everything to make it run proper but will be into the motor for more then its worth, get back to me grtting very frustrated and considering going to an ls swap if it doesnt stsrt working better soo.

NOTICED NEW PROBLEM

VTEC normally engages at 4500 ( just a dyno tune ) but anyways I held the gas to the floor expecting a nice crossover but indtad it judt kept building up no vtec sounding really bad then outnof no where will build vtec up at about 6 or later.

What coukd this be ? I wss thinking it could have had a bad burn on the ecu, or oil pressure maybe fuel? No idea

Is it that hard to troubleshoot first, than buy parts?
