2000 civic ex starting problem
Hey guys, I'm new here and I was wondering if I can get some help. So for the last few months my car has been having this weird starting problem where it would start up perfectly fine in the morning but after I stop the car after driving for a while, it doesn't wanna start. I'd have to wait about 30 min until it would start up again. I replaced my starter with a brand new one but I'm still having the same problem. The fuel pump primes, cel goes off, battery was replaced earlier this year, and all of my electronics work fine. All I hear is a click coming from the starter. I'm kinda stuck on what could be the problem. Any thoughts?

With transmission in neutral, run two wires directly from the battery + post to the starter solenoid and motor connections. Does it crank every time now?

I haven't gotten a hold of a multimeter yet cuz my friend is letting one of his other homies use it. But after being stuck at my local vape shop for about 20 min trying to start my car, I got a CEL once it did start. Would this be a clue to my starting issue or do I have another problem rising? I'll be checking the CEL tomorrow at work but I was just wondering if there would be a possible connection

Just an update on the CEL. It's P1359 and it said something about TDC and the crankshaft position. I searched it up and it was talking about a sensor near the timing belt (from what I understand) or check my distributor. Any thoughts?

Fasho. Thanks for the help and the fast replies. By any chance do you know anywhere online I can find the service manual? My car didn't come with it when I got it last year.

Re: 2000 civic ex starting problem
I took a look at the distributor today and all the wires/plugs looked fine. I noticed some wear on the rotor and the cap (perhaps I should replace this). I sprayed the connections with alcohol and made sure that they were on pretty good as well. It started okay for a while but later on in the day, I heard the clicking again. This time I was with a friend so we pop started it. Am I looking in the right place? Do I have to look deeper into the distributor? I also reset the CEL and it hadn't come back on
